Weekly Update from Mr Meehan

It was lovely to gather for our Harvest service at the church this morning, and a big well done to the Year 4 children for leading us so well in this lovely service. A big thanks to Mrs Bond for rehearsing all the songs with us. 

This week, we had our first review meeting with PS Catering, our new caterers who have been providing lunches since the beginning of term. Much of the feedback has been positive so far, but if you do have any feedback, good or bad, do please let us know. We will be organising a food tasting session later in the term (which I would recommend coming to!) and an opportunity for children themselves to feedback to the new catering managers.

Our School Updates for Parents

Selling the School 

We love our school and we are looking for parents who might be willing to share how brilliant Christ Church is. If you could:

• Be a social media star by posting positive messages about our school.
• Appear in a short video saying why Christ Church is such a great school.
• Share your expertise in marketing and/or advertising
• Invite some children from Christ Church to share some music with a group you are involved in, perhaps a mums and toddlers group

Parent Reps 

Mr Meehan and Mr Burkinshaw meet termly with the parent reps from each class and our first meeting of the year is on Tuesday 4th November. If you are a parent rep this year, please complete the form sent via email and you will be contacted by Mr Roberts in the school office.  

OPAL Collection 

All next week, there will be buckets outside both gates for donations of CDs that children can play in CD players in the playground. Please take the opportunity to both declutter and enhance children's playtimes.

STEM Lunch - Volunteers Needed 

We're hosting a series of STEM Lunch and Learn events where parents with STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) expertise share their experiences with the children. If you work or volunteer in a relevant sector we would love to hear from you. Please email the school office with your name, role/profession and they will contact you with more information. Do also pass this invitation to anyone you know who might be able to help. Help inspire our future innovators! 

Secondary School Application Deadline

A reminder to Year 6 parents/carers that the deadline for secondary school applications is Thursday, 31st October.  Please complete the online application if you haven't already done so at eAdmissions.
