Weekly Parent Update - Friday 13th March

There’s been a lot going on this week at Christ Church, including Year 5s out on their bikes for their Bikeability sessions.

Weekly Update from Mr Meehan

There’s been a lot going on this week at Christ Church, including Year 5s out on their bikes for their Bikeability sessions; this follows last week’s infant scooter training! Our Year 6s were also out and about at Wimbledon Odeon in the week and all classes have ‘paused’ a bit this week with a well-being session.

Next week, we are marking Neurodiversity Celebration Week which will be a good opportunity to celebrate our differences, and celebrate with the children their uniqueness.

In staff news, we are delighted to announce that Mrs Ahmed, who teaches in our Turtle and Owl classes, is pregnant, and expecting the birth of her second child in the summer. We do wish her well in the coming months, for this exciting time for her and her family.

We also are thrilled that Mrs Forey, who already works as part of the afternoon Connect team, will be taking up her new role of Breakfast Club and Connect Leader from the beginning of next term. We are thankful for all the work Mrs Allum has done with this role in recent years.

It has been a delight to welcome new children to our Starfish nursery over the year, and we have another intake just after the Easter break. Part of our on-going strategy with our nursery has been to include our Starfish children in wider school life, and I saw this for myself this week, as they enjoyed singing worship with all the infant children.

Thanks to our PTA for a fun end to our week this evening, with the children’s discos in the junior hall - a chance for them to let off a bit more energy before the weekend, which I am sure they are looking forward to!

We are also looking forward to seeing some stars in the making at next Wednesday’s talent show at the juniors; good luck to all our performers.

Don’t forget also next Thursday is our next Learning Look after school, with a celebration of our Art Days (thank you to Mrs Ahmed for organising this) and a food tasting from PS catering at the juniors. Do come along if you can.

Have a good weekend when you get there and may it be a particularly good one for all the mums!

Our School Updates for Parents

Locking Gates at end of school day

Please could we kindly ask parents to ensure they leave the infant school premises promptly after the school day, as our inner and outer gates need to be locked at 3:15 pm, with children from Connect still on the premises.

Please also note, as on the posters in the junior entrance, children must not play or run around anywhere near the side of the entrance where cars are parked; please ensure you are mindful of this if you are waiting with your children. Please note, children should also not enter this area at the juniors before 8.40am when our outer gate opens.
