Weekly Update - Friday 23rd September

Our Year 4 children enjoyed a djembe drumming workshop on Tuesday. There were brilliant sounds coming from the hall when this was going on!

Weekly Update from Mr Meehan

It has certainly been a significant time in our country culminating in her late majesty’s funeral on Monday. I am sure we all joined together on that day in thoughts and prayers for the Queen’s family and our whole nation. Our children at school have been able to mark the event too through artwork or writing and so would like to extend thanks to Miss Rogers, who has coordinated displays of children’s work this week to remember the Queen at both our infant and junior site.

Albeit shorter than usual, we have had a busy week, which has included our Year 5 children visiting All Saints Church and our Year 4 children enjoying a djembe drumming workshop - there were brilliant sounds coming from the hall when this was going on!

All year groups are now also busy preparing for their part in our Harvest service, which is next Friday at Christ Church at 9.45 a.m. Please come if you can to worship with us!

The children have also heard this week about our new lunchtime initiative, ‘the key to a good lunchtime’ in which they can collect keys for their class for showing good deeds at lunchtime. Some children have been impressing me already as they have committed to memory our Bible verse for our iShare theme of Good Deeds For Today:  ‘Let your light shine so that others may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven’ (Matthew 5v16). I am sure we all agree that our late Queen was certainly good at doing this!

You will have also received a parents survey this week, asking for your feedback on school life at Christ Church. Please do take a few moments to fill this in, as it will help the senior leadership team and governors to use this information in helping us to plan for the future.
