Weekly Parent Update - Friday 8th May

The Year 6 pupils are looking particularly smart in their new leavers’ hoodies; thank you to the parents who helped to organise this.

Weekly Update from Mr Meehan

I hope you enjoyed the long weekend last weekend; it’s been a short week, but still with lots going on!

Not least of all, the children were all looking very smart for their annual class photos on Wednesday, all full of smiles. These are going to look good!

The Year 6 pupils are looking particularly smart in their new leavers’ hoodies; thank you to the parents who helped to organise this. Of course, we wish our Year 6 pupils well for next week, as they sit the national SATs tests. I know their teachers are very proud of them and how hard they have been working.

It was lovely to gather to pray for the school this week with parents, staff, governors and friends of the school. We were reminded and encouraged of our Christian ethos at our heart, both the long history of the school and praying for a bright future for generations to come after us.

Back to the present day, though, and, as always, it was lovely to celebrate our Pupils of the Week today in school. At Christ Church, we always aim to give every child their moment to shine. I know some of our infant children have been waiting a bit longer for the Pupil of the Week tea parties, but I am now catching up!

I wish you a lovely weekend ahead, as more of these longer summer days approach.

Our School Updates for Parents

Clubs next week - Reminder

Please note that there are no morning clubs running at the Junior site next week from Monday to Thursday. Year 5 and 6 netball club will run on Friday. Infant site clubs will run as normal.

Class Mixing Protocol

Usually at this time of year, we share with you a fresh our class mixing protocol, which explains all about the rationale and the processes involved in our class mixing patterns. Our pattern will continue to be to mix classes when they complete Year 3 and Year 5. Please note, however, that we will also be mixing our Year 2 cohort this year, as they were not mixed in Year 1. Parents with children in these current cohorts will particularly want to read the protocol and, as recommended, ensure class teachers are aware if you have any particular aspects pertinent to your child which you would like us to bear in mind in putting the new classes together.

KS2 SATS - Volunteer Test Administrators Still Needed

We still need volunteers every morning when Year 6 sit their SATs in English and maths from Monday 11th May to Thursday 14th May. Please use the form sent via email if you are able to volunteer on any or all of the days. Training and refreshments will be provided.
