Weekly Parent Update - Friday 3rd July

Congratulations to Macaw class who enjoyed sharing their class worship with us yesterday.

Weekly Update from Mr Meehan

I think we’ve all enjoyed some cooler temperatures this week, after struggles with the heat last week. Thank you for all your messages of support; our staff worked hard last week in difficult circumstances to adapt our environment and timetables as much as possible while remaining open for business.

We again have an eye on temperatures for next week in case any adaptations need to be made, and will keep you posted, though thankfully at this stage it is not looking as if it will be as hot as previously.

Thank you if you were able to join us for our last Learning Look of the year yesterday, and let your child show off some of their learning. Congratulations also to Macaw class, who enjoyed sharing their class worship with us yesterday.

A real highlight of the week was the Year 6 production of the ‘Wizard of Oz’. Despite some rehearsals being curtailed by the heat last week, the children put on a brilliant performance on Monday and Tuesday, and brought the well-loved story to life beautifully, with wonderful singing and acting.

It’s been our junior sports day this morning (infants, your turn next Friday!) and it was a fun competitive morning of house fun and some great races - and the sun shone! My thanks to Miss Dusting and Mrs Hedman for masterminding the event. Congratulations to our winning houses, Elm and Lime jointly for Years 3 & 4 and Lime for Years 5 & 6.

We are of course getting towards the end of the school year now, and so a little later today, we will be sharing with you all you need to know regarding our staff team for next year and our classes across the school. If you have a child in a cohort being mixed, you will also receive an additional email letting you know which class they are in for September. This information is also being shared with the children this afternoon.

Our Year 6 pupils leave for their residential trip to the Isle of Wight on Monday, so we wish them well, and pray God’s blessings with them for a fun, happy week.

In the meantime, have a lovely weekend!
