Weekly Parent Update - Friday 9th May
We enjoyed marking VE day at both sites yesterday through collective worship as well as class and playground activities.
Weekly Update from Mr Meehan
Though short, it’s been another busy week at Christ Church, which has included a wonderful soloist concert at the juniors and our VE day celebrations. Year 5 are also out enjoying an ‘Awful Egyptians’ show at Richmond Theatre this morning as I write, to support their history learning.
We enjoyed marking VE day yesterday, along with the rest of the country, and remembering the joyous events of 80 years ago. Through collective worship and class and playground activities, we included celebration through the day. If you have seen our Instagram page, you will have seen some of the outdoor fun we had at both sites! My thanks to Mrs Burrowes and Miss Crooke for making all this happen.
As we look ahead to next week, please keep our Year 6 pupils in your prayers, as they are doing their national SATs tests through the week. We will be starting them off each day with a welcoming SATs breakfast, before they work on their tests each morning. I know they have been preparing well, so we wish them all the best of luck over next week.
We’ll also be launching details of our school’s poetry recital and story telling competition next week, which will include judges, prizes and certificates, so look out for this soon!
In the meantime, may you be blessed with a great weekend ahead.
Our School Updates for Parents
Ice Pop Sale after school today
The Year 6 fundraising team are hosting another ice pop sale at both sites at pick up time today to raise money for the Year 6 leavers’ events. Ice pops will be 50p each. Cards will be accepted but only for purchases of £1 or more.
Reminder: KS2 SATS - Volunteer Test Administrators Still Needed on Tuesday
Year 6 sit their SATS in English and maths from Monday 12th May to Thursday 15th May. We need two adults in each room each day, one is always a member of school staff and one a volunteer. Please use the form sent via email if you are able to volunteer on any or all of the days. Training and refreshments will be provided.
Reminder: Join in Prayer for the School
Our next prayer meeting, open to staff, governors, parents and friends of the school will be on the junior site, in the creative space, on Wed 21st May at 6pm. Please do join us, even if you haven’t done so before! We usually gather for 30-45 minutes.
