Weekly Parent Update - Friday 27th February

Over this short half term, our iShare Learning theme is “God so loved the world,” based on John 3:16.
Weekly Update from Mr Meehan
I hope you all enjoyed a restful and refreshing February half term break. It has been a pleasure to welcome the children back into school this week, ready for the busy and important weeks ahead. Over this short half term, our iShare Learning theme is “God so loved the world,” based on John 3:16. In the run up to Easter, we will be reflecting on what this powerful verse teaches us about love, hope and sacrifice, and how we can show God’s love in our daily actions towards one another and the wider world.
This is always a special and reflective time in the school year, as we journey through Lent and prepare to celebrate Easter together. Through worship, classroom learning and our shared values, we will be encouraging the children to consider how they can live out compassion, kindness and service in practical ways. Even if Easter is not part of your tradition, I am sure your children may be looking forward to the odd Easter egg or two in a few weeks! Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership in nurturing not only academic growth, but also the spiritual and moral development of our children at Christ Church.
We are thankful to some parents over half term who have built for us a new expanded junior mud kitchen for the children to enjoy. You will notice that our ‘Ways to Be’ wall has now been whitewashed and painted ready for some new art, inspired by some of the children’s ideas from last term. We would love a ‘graffitti’ type design from a graffiti artist; if you have any contacts who specialise in this, let us know.
Finally, remember we are looking for talent of all sorts for our junior talent show next month, whether this is your children - or a family performance! This is one last call out for entries, before we start putting the event together. Here’s the letter again, which tells you how to get involved.
Have a lovely weekend, especially as the hours of daylight continue to increase! If you'd like something lovely to do on Saturday afternoon, why not pop along to our PTA’s Craft Fair between 1-4pm at Korean Culture and Arts Centre & SeOUL Residential. Well done to all the children (and parents!) preparing crafts for this event.
