Vision

At school we believe in BECOMING THE PEOPLE GOD MADE US TO BE

  • Creative people
  • Living in community
  • Nurturing each other
  • Maximising our potential

We see Peter, who was called by Jesus, and became the rock on which Christ built the church.

"For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

Creative People

We are CREATIVE PEOPLE because we are made in the image of God. God created the world out of nothing, and he has made us creative people so we can make something out of what already exists.

We are creative people when we:

  • Think up something new (“Oh sing to the Lord a new song” Psalm 96:1)

  • Solve problems in new ways

  • Produce something

We are inspired by the example of Bezalel and Oholiab, who were gifted by God in art and design.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Colossians 3:23

Living In Community

We are LIVING IN COMMUNITY because when God created Adam, the first man, he said “It is not good for the man to be alone.” (Genesis 2:18) and created Eve. We live in community because other people are important to us and Jesus said “I’m giving you a new commandment: Love each other in the same way that I have loved you.” (John 13:34)

We are living in community when we:

  • Respect other people “with humility think of others as being better than yourselves” (Philippians 2:3)

  • Are honest

  • Take responsibility

  • Forgive each other

We follow the example of Nehemiah, who led God’s people to work together to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

"Each of you should look not only to their own interests but also to the interests of others.” Philippians 2:4

Nurturing Each Other

We are NURTURING EACH OTHER because Jesus told us to “Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another.” The Bible tells us that we are to encourage each other and build each other up (1 Thessalonians 5:11) and to help each other with our troubles (Galatians 6:2).

  • Are good listeners (James 1:19)

  • THINK before we speak “A gentle answer turns away anger, but a sharp word causes anger.” (Proverbs 15:1)

  • Help each other

  • Encourage each other

We know that Ruth nurtured those around her when she went with Naomi to a land and people she didn’t know.

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Maximising Our Potential

We are MAXIMISING OUR POTENTIAL because God tells us to live the life he has given us (1 Corinthians 7:17) and to life it to the full (John 10:10.) He says “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

  • Remember – God has made you and has plans for you!

  • Have a go

  • Be responsible

  • Work together

We see how Joseph worked hard in every situation he found himself in – Potiphar’s house, prison, Pharaoh’s service

Put these abilities to work; throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone may notice your improvement and progress.”  1 Timothy 4:15
