PE / Sports Premium

We are delighted to announce that we have received £19,550 from the government as our 2022-23 PE and Sport Premium!

This funding will help us to continue to develop our successful Sports offerings from the previous school year, as well as to continue to invest in indoor and outdoor PE.

These funds will also help us to fulfil our goal of developing our playing field. Having additional and fit-for-purpose space for outdoor PE and school sport will help us to achieve our ultimate goal of a well-established and sustainable programme for helping children to live healthy and active lifestyles. We also hope that this will help our wider community by offering more green space for sport and leisure.

Please see our 2022-23 PE and Sport Premium Action Plan.

What is the PE and Sport Premium?

The Sports Premium grant is additional funding from the Government to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sports in primary schools. The funding is ring-fenced for the provision of PE and sport.

Specifically, schools must use the funding to develop or add to the PE and sport activities that are currently offered and to build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years.

Schools are expected to demonstrate that this grant is being used in the following ways:

  • Engaging all pupils in regular physical activity
  • Raising the profile of PE and sport across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement
  • Increasing the confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
  • Offering a broader experience of a range of sports and activities to all pupils
  • Increasing participation in competitive sport
